Our Journey to Sodi

My karting journey started in Southern California, driving a CRG chassis. Like many racers, I tried different brands early on, but it wasn’t until a friend let me drive his Sodi that everything clicked. The balance, responsiveness, and build quality stood out instantly. Just two weeks later, I made the switch. That same friend later moved to France and raced Sodi professionally—proof that I wasn’t imagining the difference.

Years later, after more experience and deeper involvement in the sport, I had the opportunity to bring Sodi to other racers by becoming an authorized dealer. It felt like the right fit—not just because of the results on track, but because of the culture behind the brand.

Championships & Podiums (2024–2025)

Sodi’s results in recent seasons underscore its technical excellence:

• 2024 FIA Karting World Championship (KZ) – Giuseppe Palomba (Sodi/CPB Sport) became world champion while team‑mate Senna Van Walstijn finished second.

• 2024 European Championship (KZ2) – Mattéo Spirgel took the title, and Van Walstijn was runner‑up in KZ.

• WSK Final Cup 2024 – Sodi drivers Maksim Orlov and Kasper Schormans claimed victory, with five Sodi machines in the top ten.

• Champions of the Future Shifter 2024 – Anthony Abbasse dominated the KZ2 Masters (pole and all heats), and Van Walstijn climbed from the back to finish second in the KZ final.

• 2025 WSK Super Master Series – The new Sigma 2025 chassis immediately reached the podium with Mattéo Spirgel; Senna Van Walstijn grabbed pole, and Maksim Orlov set the fastest lap.

• 2025 FIA European Championship – Sodi’s dominance continued: Spirgel won the KZ European title, and Maksim Orlov swept all three rounds to become KZ2 European champion with a full Sodi podium.

These results demonstrate that Sodi chassis perform at the highest level and in varied conditions. When you race Sodi, you’re using equipment capable of winning world and European championships.

Sodi Alumni in Formula 1

Many top‑level drivers began their careers on Sodi karts. Three of the most notable are Pierre Gasly, Charles Leclerc, and Esteban Ocon:

• Pierre Gasly joined the Sodi Racing Team in 2009 and immediately won the French KF3 Championship. The following year, he finished second in the European Championship and stood on the podium at the Monaco Kart Cup. A Formula 1 feature notes that he finished second in the 2010 European Karting Championship with Sodi equipment.

• Charles Leclerc raced Sodi karts from 2008, winning the French Cadet Championship and the Bridgestone Cup, and later the Monaco Kart Cup and Bercy Masters.

• Esteban Ocon also benefited from Sodi’s support; a Sodi Racing USA release credits Sodi promoter Thierry Germanovitch with guiding the karting careers of Leclerc, Gasly, and Ocon.

Their success stories underscore how Sodi equipment can be a stepping stone from grassroots karting to Formula 1.

Driver Development & Events

Sodikart believes in making karting accessible. Through its 3MK Events division, the company organises France’s National Series Karting, the Challenge Rotax France, and the international Sodi World Series (SWS). These “arrive and drive” programmes allow newcomers to race identically‑prepared karts without owning equipment, making them ideal for driver development. Many participants progress from SWS races to national and international competitions.
